Pulse Ark began with a simple conviction: music belongs to every living being. Founded in the United Kingdom by a lifelong pianist and programme leader with roots across Korea, Singapore, and the UK, the charity was born from years of quiet observation — of the elderly resident whose eyes softened at a familiar melody, of the rescue dog that calmed at the sound of a cello, of the extraordinary child whose musical gift was waiting for a stage built just for them.

Drawing inspiration from pioneering outreach organisations across the world — among them Singapore’s Beautiful Music Community — Pulse Ark brings the same spirit of inclusive music-making to communities across the United Kingdom. We are registered in the UK, led by volunteers, and funded entirely through the generosity of our supporters.

Our name tells our story. The pulse is the rhythm that runs through every living being. The ark is a vessel of safe passage, a place where those in need are carried with care. Together, Pulse Ark is our promise: to offer music as both heartbeat and haven.

Our mission

Pulse Ark is a UK-based music outreach charity dedicated to bringing the restorative power of music to those most often overlooked by mainstream musical life. Through volunteer-led concerts, creative workshops, and collaborative research, we serve three communities close to our heart: animals in shelters and sanctuaries, senior citizens in care and community settings, and musically talented children with special needs.

Guided by the generosity of our donors and the artistry of our volunteer musicians, we create inclusive spaces where music is not performed for an audience but shared with them — nurturing well-being, dignity, and joy in every life we touch.
